one little word.

One little word is all it takes to change your day, your year, your life. Every year since 2007, Ali Edwards has been hosting "One Little Word" on her blog. She encourages you to pick one little word to live by throughout the upcoming year. I participated this year for the first time and the word I chose was: love.

This was such a great experience that I decided to go for it again. My 2011 word is: create. I chose this word myself. I knew that I needed to do more of creating and I wanted to do more of it in 2011 and each successive year. I know what the basics of the word create are. Here's a dictionary definition...

cre·ate

[kree-eyt] Show IPA verb, -at·ed, -at·ing, adjective

–verb (used with object) : to evolve from one's own thought or imagination, as a work of art or an invention.

Now, that's a textbook definition. I hope that throughout the year of 2011, I am able to accomplish the task of creating (see, what I did there? :)) my own definition for my one little word. I hope that this word will guide me throughout the year and remind me to take time for myself. I'm hoping that I can create oodles of things throughout the year... whether it be layouts, cards, mini books, canvases. Whatever it is... I just want to be creating it!

monday challenge {12/27}

I've been on a scrapbooking roll lately (7 pages done in three days... WHAT?!?!). It feels so good to finally be back into a groove and being able to sit and create! Stephanie is hosting the SC blog this week and her monday challenge was to scrap photos from your phone... she included alternatives for those who have a phone that doesn't take pictures or those without a phone. one year.

Oh my goodness! I just realized that I missed my one year blogiversary! My little blog turned one year on Friday, December 24th! I can't believe it's been a whole year of blogging fun for me!

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who reads this blog. Please know that it means so much to me! I love you guys!

december daily {the beginning}.

Hello there! Happy December 1st! I can't believe it's already December. Can you? Well, I'm sure most of us know... the start of December equals the start of December Daily! Wooo!

This is my first year participating in the December Daily journey. And, boy, I am so excited! I was actually able to put aside enough time to accomplish creating the foundation. So, I am hoping to share each page of my album here on the blog. I may not post every day, but I will share every couple of days.

happy {belated} thanksgiving!

Happy belated Thanksgiving to you all! We had a lovely Thanksgiving with tons of turkey, stuffing, and other food! It was heavenly! :) My mom's brothers and sister came with their families and we had a big gathering. I also did a photo shoot with my cousins and brother. I'll share some of the pictures we took. :)

paws, light & paint splatters.

Hello everyone! Just wanted to pop in quickly and share a few things. I've been really getting into photography lately and wanted to share some stuff, as well as a project I made for my art class. Here we go...

^ I love this one! The perspective of it, puppy's little paw, and the toy. It's just a picture that captures puppy so good! That makes me smile!

^ My project. It may look messy, but that's the point. I painted all of the objects & the base white. Then, I took six different colored Maya mists & misted & splattered all over the project.

I just wanted to pop in and wish everyone a Happy Halloween! I got back from walking around with my friend about an hour and a half ago. I'm just ready to crawl into bed right about now. :) My Alice in Wonderland costume was a hit... and my friend was Belle. My brother went as Harry Potter. He looked so cute! a market, four pumpkins, and one huge mess!

Thanks for stopping by and happy Sunday! Today was a holiday prep kind of day in my household! We stopped by a local market type place to buy our pumpkins. They sell them for a cheap price, too! Which is awesome. More for less! While we were picking out our pumpkins, we were informed that they sold a variety of foods in side the little house. So, we went in to investigate. We ended up leaving with some cheddar cheese, a large slice of Zucchini Nut bread, and a large slice of Pumpkin Nut bread... and, of course, four pumpkins! All of the food was made by local farmers... which is a huge plus! It's great to be able to support them. Now, onto some pictures! These are of pumpkins and some other items at the market.

halloween decor {exterior}

Today has been a fairly lazy day. The only real thing I got accomplished today was putting up our outdoor Halloween decorations and a little bit of homework. Well, in the spirit of Halloween (t-minus 14 days!) I'm here to share some pictures of our outdoor decor. This post may be a little picture heavy... so be warned.

Don't you love the tape job? It was the only way to get the web up on the house like that. lol.

Mom wants us to place bets on whether or not these tombstones (they're styrofoam!) will be stolen.

studio calico {new blog!}

Studio Calico has a new blog up! It's pretty fantastic. The new look is so fun and fresh! And, to celebrate this event they have decided to do a couple giveaways.
