birthday.

No, no... it's not my birthday.
I just have a layout to share about a birthday! :)
I actually used my Cricut machine on this one... it's been awhile. But, one of my goals for 2012 is to start using it more often! Then maybe I can justify getting a Silhouette Cameo, too. ha!

Here's the layout...

'sweet treats' cricut cartridge | studio calico mr. huey shine | studio calico mr. huey clay | fiskars star punch | martha stewart snowflake punch | studio calico 'you are here stamp' | jbs 'fountain pen' ink

I pop-dotted the title on this one. I thought it would be fun to add a little dimension!

I am in LOVE with oversized, die-cut titles. I think this may be a new thing for me! haha. I'm definitely going to be playing around in the coming weeks with these. :)

So, that's all I've got to share today. Thanks for looking!

december daily {days 9-21}

More December Daily pages to share! I've been working on playing catch up. I'm currently up to Day 25, but I'm only going to share days 9-21 today. I will have the rest up, hopefully, on December 31 and that will be the wrap up. I can then put it to rest and start some new fun stuff for 2012!

For now, here's some more pages...

This was a picture of our tree in the backyard and me eating pumpkin pie and hot cocoa for breakfast!

Necklaces that I made for my friends for gifts and Santa driving through our neighborhood on a firetruck.

Christmas cards and my mom and brother doing a toast in honor of my Mom Mom's birthday!

My brother in his Christmas show & my new Christmas jammies.

Our tree all set up and the stockings hung by the chimney with care. :)

Our Christmas card picture outtake and the new blanket I got as a present.

And, some Christmas cookies from the grocery store!

I used a lot of things from my stash and my sewing machine has definitely got a good workout with this project! ha!

Thanks for looking!

one little word {2012}.

I M M E R S E
 im·merse [ih-murs]
verb (used with object), -mersed, -mersing

1. to plunge into or place under a liquid; dip; sink
2. to involve deeply; absorb

2012 is going to be the year of immersion for me. I would like to say that I chose my word, but in actuality I believe my word chose me. In fact, it just came to me last night. Movie night with the family had just finished up and I was walking up to bed. And, it hit me... this is the first time in a while that you put yourself, immersed yourself, into your own life.
It felt good to sit around watching a movie with my whole family. It felt good to let my worries slip away and just laugh at everything that was going on while sitting there.
I've decided that I need to do this more often. Immerse myself in all that my life offers. I need to involve myself. I need to play with my puppy more. I need to listen more. I need to be silly more. I need to document more. And, maybe every once in awhile... throw in a family movie night or two.
So, I'm going to be rolling through 2012 with immerse on my mind and in my heart. Let's make this year a great one!

top eleven layouts of 2011.

Hey y'all! We're nearing the end of 2011, so I decided it would be appropriate to share my top eleven layouts of 2011! :) Here they are in no particular order...

I feel as though I got a lot of documenting accomplished this year. That makes me extremely happy! And, it also made it tough to pick just eleven pages to share as my tops for this year! ha! However, I hope 2012 will be just as productive, if not more so, as this year!

Thanks for looking!

the rose speaks.

I love this quote that I found online. It's just perfect & I thought it would be appropriate to accompany
these pictures I had of some roses that our pastor gave us.
I made this page for the December Kit Killer Challenge #1 on the SC message board. :)

mr. huey white | fiskars star punch | jbs stick candy ink

Quote reads, "The rose speaks of love silently, in a language known only by the heart."

This page was super simple. I just followed the color scheme of the inspo photo and kind of played around with photo & embellishment placement. And, as soon as I knew it I was done! I also had a neat time doing the extended title and mixing in some of my own handwriting... which is far from perfect, but it's all about documentation, right?

In other news, I've fallen behind in my December Daily. But, today was a catch up day and hopefully tomorrow will be, too. So, I should be caught up in a matter of no time! I hope to share my most recent pages soon!

I hope you're enjoying the holidays thus far!

birthday card.

One of my best friend's birthday was this past Tuesday. She had a little early get-together on Saturday. I made a little card to accompany her present!
Here it is...

sc state fair chipboard | fiskars star punch | sc addy alpha stamps

Honestly, and I feel bad for saying this, this card was put together at the very last minute. I was about to run out to go to work and I remembered that I hadn't put a card together. So, I quickly put this little one together. And, even though it was a "last minute Charlie" card, I kind of love it. haha. A lot of my favorite crafty things are put together quickly. I wonder why that is...

Have an awesome weekend, y'all!

december daily {1 & 2}

Hey everyone! How are your December Daily albums coming along?
I've been at work on mine and I think I'm off to a pretty good start. This project definitely feels less stressful than it was last year (I never finished last year's because of that!). So, I think I'll have a better time getting this one done. :)
I've gotten days 1 & 2 completed so far. And, I'm working on days 3 & 4 today. But, I'm only going to share 1 & 2 for now!

This project is an awesome project! I think it'll be great to look back on all we've done throughout December. And, I liked the fact that it is something you can prep ahead of time to save on that during the month! Plus, you can make it as simple or as intricate as you want... just make it to suit your lifestyle and needs!

Be back later with more updates!

I know I am behind in getting these up, but better late than never, right?
Here's a few pictures of our Thanksgiving dinner & the cupcakes I got on a little day trip with my cousins!

My aunt's asparagus with sun dried tomato seasoning. :)

Well, that's all I've got. Be back soon with some December Daily updates!

hello, december.

via holly pyle (pinterest)

December, it's nice to see you.
While, I'm not completely thrilled with the fact of extremely cold weather or that another year is almost done...
I am thrilled to wear cute scarfs, trendy boots, cozy cardigans, and fuzzy hats.
I am thrilled that hot cocoa can now be drunk (it's cold enough!).
I am thrilled that the holidays are right around the corner. I love that!
I am thrilled that snow could be coming soon (or maybe not?).
I am thrilled to be able to begin Christmas present shopping & making!
I am thrilled to be coming up on winter break.
I am thrilled to have the fireplace going, just makes things seem more cozy. However, the accompanying bill is not something I'm thrilled with.
I am thrilled to be able to wear fuzzy socks... those are staple in the winter for me.
I am thrilled to be able to wrap myself in a cocoon of blankets at night... I love doing that while watching T.V.
I am thrilled that we are in the turkey dinner & pumpkin pie stretch of the year.
I am thrilled and blessed that I am able to spend this year with my family. I love them to pieces!

December, I'm glad you're here. Please stay awhile!
