yippee!

I actually got two layouts done today! That is awesome, considering it's a week day. lol.
Hoping to share them this weekend or maybe Friday. I'm actually kind of proud of them, even if they are a bit... "pieced together". As in, some things are crooked and I'm running out of adhesive and not using the kind I normally would. And some of the adhesive that I am using ends up showing. It's quite a disaster... being out of adhesive. Oh well, I'll head off to the store soon.

Anywho, I just wanted to remind you all that tomorrow night at midnight (the 27th going into the 28th) Studio Calico will be having their Partly Sunny: June Kit reveal. Sounds like fun! I so cannot wait to see what the team has put together this month. Believe me, it's like Christmas morning every month when I get to see the reveal!

I'm hoping to talk again soon!

Have a happy Wednesday. xoxo - Kasey

P.S. Today is the 26th... in case I confused you with the whole Studio Calico thing. And I'm sorry if I got you excited thinking today was the day because... it's not. *sigh* ;)

the statue and the dress.

Yippee! Two blog posts in a row. That never happens 'round here.
It's been a very busy and tiring day at my house. I woke up relatively early this morning so that I could pack everything together that I'd need for the day. Then around nine it was off to my school to help with the car wash. The car wash will help raise money for my class trip.
After that, I needed to be at one of the local high schools to participate in the relay races. I ran in a number of races and was out of breath by the time it was finished. I was so worn out and tired that I didn't even stay for the award presentation. Geez, I sound like an old lady. lol.
I hadn't eaten all morning and just wanted to get home so that I could get some food in me. So, that's what I did.

I have two layouts to share today, though. So I hope you enjoy them...

Made using Studio Calico's: Granny's Cupboard kit. Maya road stick pins and AC thickers and Color Box pigment ink. This layout was a scraplift of this one: Spirit & Spunk by Diane (dpayne). There was a challenge in the Studio Calico "Challenge Central" forum to scraplift the person above you and Diane was above me. :)

Made using Studio Calico's: Granny's Cupboard kit. The idea for the drawn lines on the background paper came from this layout: W by Stephanie Wheeler (livingroomfloor). She used an overlay. I did not have one, though.

Thanks so much for looking everyone!

Have a great Saturday. xoxo - Kasey

fabulous friday finds [and a couple of layouts].

Alrighty. It's Friday, and you know what that means! It's time for fabulous friday finds.
Below is the inspiration I've gathered this week. It's not that much, but it may just be enough to kick-start your mojo. Maybe get ya skipping to your scrap room... maybe. ;)

So here we go...

via (oh joy)

how neat is that huge balloon? the stripes stretching around are so colorful and summery. perfect to inspire summer layouts. and the fact that everything is backed against a bright blue sky making it pop... that's gorgeous!

via (oh joy)

can you say... inspi-uh-ring? that polka dot tape up in the corner reminds me of washi tape. the circular container below it is so neat (almost like a grid). the lettered pictures in the frame look like little flashcards. and the bright pops of color in the left column are so awesome!

via (simple blueprint)

honestly, i don't know what exactly i find so inspiring about this. it just is. i guess you could say that it's the bright colors and unusual design. i don't know. i just love it.

via (bluepoolroad)

i love this color combo. green and purple. and the white just ties it all together. so clean, simple, and fresh. love it!

via (bluepoolroad)

the perfect template for a stitching pattern. and look at the tag at the bottom... it's meant for scrapbooking!

 via (bluepoolroad)

this reminds me of embossed paper. with the raised part being inked. how neat is that?
on the site, bluepoolroad, it says it's meant to be an inked calendar. now, I know I couldn't have thought of that! whoever did... they're a creative genius!

okay. that's it for fabulous friday finds. but, my computer finally cooperated so now I have some layouts to share! they've been accumulating, so bear with me. there could end up being a tremendous amount of photos.

favorites.

Hey everyone! I just wanted to say that I'm sorry I did not get the pictures of my layouts up on Sunday. My computer has not been (and still isn't cooperating) with my camera and I cannot get the photos to upload. So those pictures will hopefully come on another day. :)

Now, Ali Edwards posted a post about inspiration today on her blog. It looked super neat to me and I thought I'd do the same... This way my blog won't die while I'm waiting for the computer to cooperate.

So, here we go...

via (oh joy)

Color: Yellow.  (the legs of the table above)
It's just so bright and cheery. It's been my favorite for awhile now. It's so awesome!

Font: Valerie Hand. Here's an example...

via (oh joy)

Pattern: Floral. (like the pattern on the calendar above. or the pattern on a lot of spring/summer dresses.)

via (ban.do)

Shape: Heart. (like the headband above.)

Letter: K. As in the first letter in my names. :)

via (etsy)

Number: 7. It's been my favorite number since forever. It's also the day of my birthday.

Word: Trigonometry. I don't know. Maybe it's the fact that we learned it in my math class last week or that it's fun to say. My friend and I also have a joke about it. I call her Triggy because of Trigonometry and because she was so excited the day we finally learned it. lol.

So, yeah. I'm hoping the computer will start cooperating. I want to share so badly! hehe.

Have a wonderful Wednesday! xoxo - Kasey

fabulous friday finds.

This is my first installment of fabulous friday finds. My goal is to find things that I love or some inspiration over the week and then share it with you all on Friday. Some of the inspiration will most likely end up on my tumblr account, but I will share it here as well, as this is my "official" blog.

So here are my finds...

via (simple blueprint)

I mean, how gorgeous is that patterned paper banner? I know that Emily shared it on the Studio Calico blog as part of her Tumblr tutorial. Those are very cute banners and uber inspiring!

via (simple blueprint)

And let me tell ya. I shared this picture on my Tumblr account last night. I am in LOVE with everything in it. The cute milk bottles, the adorable gray and white striped straws, the turquoise background, and that floral hankie? So cute! I love it so much.

via (simple blueprint)

The above picture had my stomach growling. It got me in the mood to want to cook. hehe. Looks like a delicious breakfast for someone! And it looks so artistic! Love that!

via (simple blueprint)

That clipboard thing in the background is lovely! I want one just like it, except in purple (to match the future color of the scrap room)... not blue! hehe. It's adorable and the floral print just adds to the visual interest! Gorgeous!

via (charlotte russe)

This shirt is beautiful! I want it so much. It looks so fabulous! And the little flower up on the shoulder is so awesome! It's definitely a shirt I'd love to wear during the summer. I'm hoping I can get my hands on it!

Now... I just wanted to say that Studio Calico had their June Kit (Partly Sunny) Sneak Peek to day. Let me tell ya'. This is some gorgeous stuff! The pictures of it are just wonderful and I (hopefully) will be able to get my hands on it.
So hop on over there to take a peek. I'm sure you'll be glad you did!

And I have two new layouts to share. I will try to get them up for you all tomorrow! Keep an eye open.

Happy Friday! xoxo - kasey

my heart

I have a quick post today! Just a little layout I did for the "Leftovers Challenge" at Studio Calico. This layout is for the "Scrap Your Avatar Challenge" that I didn't get to complete for NSD.

It's called "My Heart". It's about my puppy and it came together pretty quickly. I like when that happens. It's also a layout that I love!

I used the March Studio Calico kit which included... "Flowering Fields" paper (American Crafts), Dear Lizzy rub-ons (American Crafts), Crocheted flowers (American Crafts), and Banner stickers (Jenni Bowlin). I then used Maya Mist in Cream, White cardstock (Best Occasions), and White Thickers (American Crafts). Tons of AC. Huh?

Also, my new Studio Calico, Granny's Cupboard arrived today. I am in love! Cannot wait to dig into it tonight. That's after I finish writing my speeches, though.

Hope you all have a happy Friday! xoxo - Kasey

scrapalicious sunday.

Well, today is scrapalicious sunday and I have some things to share!
Yesterday was National Scrapbooking Day and Studio Calico was hosting a ton of challenges. I decided to partake in the ones that I could and below you will find three projects that I did for NSD!

I used blue paint (random one that I found in an art bag that I have). Yellow foam Thickers. A flower cut from the Dear Lizzy "Flowering Fields" paper. Studio Calico wood veneer. Maya road stick pins. Cream Maya mist. "Tea" patterned paper from Studio Calico. The base cardstock is Best Occasions.

It was a lift challenge. I decided to lift the below layout for the challenge. I never shared this layout, but I'm sharing it now. :)

I used the "English" patterned paper from Studio Calico. A flower cut from the Dear Lizzy "Flowering Fields" paper. A Dear Lizzy rub-on. Studio Calico wood veneer. Maya Mist in Hydrangea. The base cardstock was Kraft by Bazzill.

The next challenge(s) were 5 products {brads, polka dots, mist, SC stamp, 4 patterned papers}, Use some mist, sketch challenge, Negative Town challenge, and white space challenge. Here's what I came up with...

I used Jenni Bowl banner stickers. "Sapphire" patterned paper (Sassafras), "Tea" (Studio Calico), "Sweet Strawberry" (Dear Lizzy), "Snip Snip" (Cosmo Cricket). Maya Road chipboard buttons. Mini Cherry Stamps (Studio Calico). High Noon Ready-Set-Chip Stickers (Cosmo Cricket). Wood Veneer (Studio Calico). Maya Mist in Hydrangea.

And last, but certainly not least, a Mother's Day card! Yippee! lol. The challenges were to use your favorite SC stamp on a card and to use blue, woodgrain, and a punch on a card. Here's my interpretation...

Flower cut from Dear Lizzy "Flowering Fields" paper (can you tell that I am slightly addicted to this paper?). Butterfly punched from "Sapphire" patterned paper. Wood veneer from Studio Calico. Blue cardstock is Best Occasions. The brad was a random one I found in my stash. I can't even remember what company made it...

Thanks so much for stopping by to look!

Have a wonderful Sunday! xoxo - Kasey
