eight is enough {supplies}.

I have decided to step up and attempt the Eight is Enough challenge. I have not bought the eBook created by April Foster & Ella Publishing, but I plan to. I'm going to try and start some layouts before I do that, though. I don't want to wait until I do buy it.

I have pulled together my "kit" of eight items (seven for now). I have seven items and have a wild card item that I can choose later on when I know there is something I *need*. My "kit" consists of two sheets of patterned paper, two alphas, one label sticker sheet, Martha Stewart: Classic Butterfly Punch, Maya Road: Orange Mist. Below is a picture...

I hope to be off and running on this project very soon!

Have a lovely night! xoxo - Kasey

scrappy saturday.

I have to leave very soon for my church picnic, but I will leave you all with a layout! I created it today. I know, I know... you are probably thinking, "Why hasn't she been working on the "box"?". Well, these past two days, I just haven't been inspired to keep working on the box. That will change tomorrow, though. I am working on the box and I will try to finish it! If I don't get hot on it tomorrow... I'll never get hot on it! lol.

Here's the layout...

(Studio Calico June Kit: Partly Sunny + Orange Maya Mist + Cream Maya Mist + Studio Calico Cherry Stamp + Vanilla Cardstock [Best Occasions])

**Made using the Sketchy Thursdays: 6/3 sketch.

Journaling reads: Although one out of the three of us is much younger & rarely seen... we still have a connection.

I never do that much splattering or random stamping, but I really wanted to try something different from my "current". It was neat to just randomly splatter mist and all that and the end result is a page that I love!

Have a wonderful evening, everyone! xoxo - Kasey

friday craftiness {the good stuff}.

Hello all! Today I decided to take a one day break from my project. I wanted to just sit and create a page and then get started on the "box" (my nickname for the project) again tomorrow. So, that's what I did! After running around in the morning (dropping the dog off for a haircut & getting my own hair cut) I snapped some pictures, uploaded, printed, and scrapped! And then, of course, photographed and uploaded again. Below is my newest creation!

(Studio Calico June Kit: Partly Sunny + bits of SC May kit: Granny's Cupboard + Purple Cardstock [Best Occasions])

I used Big Huge Labs for the collage.

This layout is for Color Combos Galore current color palatte. I'm really getting into this whole stitching thing! I think I like it! :)

It was inspired by this layout by Leah.  I really loved everything about her layout. And even though mine doesn't look like hers, it inspired me to scrap.

It's about my little Yorkie's new haircut. Sorry I pixelated the photos, but she's embarrassed by the hair cut (didn't even want me to take pictures, no lie! She wouldn't look at the camera until I just moved around crazily and snapped them quick!). So, I decided it be best I pixelate them. ;) Even though she wouldn't know they're on here. lol. I don't even think it looks bad, but what are ya gonna do?

Thank you so much for coming!

I hope to be back tomorrow! My goal is to blog every day this week! hehe. That'll be a feat!

Have an amazing Friday! xoxo - Kasey

a little sneaky peeky.

I have a little sneak peek of a project I've been working on. This is just for my own uses, no Design Team work or anything like that. I'm not even on a design team! lol. So, anyways, I'm not going to reveal to you what it is, until I can show you the full thing. That will be when I finish the project!

So for now, I shall share a little tidbit...

(Using Studio Calico kits: Quilting Bee, Granny's Cupboard, and Partly Sunny + bits of my stash)

Well, there it is! I look forward to showing you the whole thing, but that could be a couple of days! I have a feeling this could take a little chunk of time to complete. But, then again, I only started on it last night!

Thank you for stopping by!

Have a terrific Thursday! Enjoy your day! xoxo - Kasey

scrapping on a wednesday.

This is going to be a quick post, and I'm sorry for that! Dinner is done and I just wanted to squeeze this in before sitting down. So, I have one new layout to share with you!

(Studio Calico June Kit: Partly Sunny + MS Butterfly Punch + Cream cardstock [Best Occasions])

This layout is for Studio Calico's Sunday Sketch 6/20 & Studio Calico's Favorite Challenge. The favorite on here is the picture. It is one of my favorite photos.

The clustering of butterflies was inspired by this layout by Elizabeth Kartchner. I wasn't originally going to do the butterflies since it wasn't on the sketch, but I just decided to add them after remembering that layout by Elizabeth.

This was also my first time sewing on a layout. I went around to my grandmother's house last night to borrow her sewing machine. She taught me how to sew and then lock the stitch (within in a short period of time... She absolutely rocks, might I add! lol). That was special. I wish I had brought my camera and gotten my brother to take pictures. Or took pictures myself.

The cardstock is creased because I rode my motor scooter to her house and had to balance on that while holding the cardstock in between my legs. Quite the sight! I almost got hit by a car on my way back! Hey, I didn't see him pulling out of the driveway until I was right in front of him! I'm kind of upset about that (the cardstock being creased. lol).

Well then, I best be sending you on your way! Thanks for stopping by today!

Have a wonderful Wednesday night! xoxo - Kasey

monday scraparoonies.

I'm here to update! I've been a little busy. Preparing for some upcoming things, planning a *possible* trip to visit my mom's friend, reading a ton, and scrapbooking! So... with the scrapbooking... I have some things to share! Not much, but some.

(Studio Calico June kit: Partly Sunny + Orange Baker's Twine + Orange Cardstock [Best Occasions] + Maya Road Envelope + Orange Maya Mist)

This was a little layout about my new phone. I attempted to step outside my box a little and try something different. I stepped a little... using an uber bright background and a bunch of bright elements. I had fun splattering the mist, as well.
I did this for The Color Room challenge for this week.

(Studio Calico June Kit: Partly Sunny + Yellow Cardstock [Best Occasions] + K&Company Flower Stickers)

A quick card for Father's Day for my dad. It didn't take me that long and I was happy with the end result. My dad loved it!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Have a fabulous Monday night. xoxo - Kasey

P.S. I hope to be back soon with more updates. :) I know I'm typically a bad blogger. hehe.

a post filled with scraps.

I have four new layouts to share with you today. I'm really excited to share with you... because I am learning how to use my new camera and the pictures are finally turning out the way I would like them! They may not be that bright, but I like it better this way because the sun around here is very harsh on my photos. So, I take them when the sun is still up, but not over my benches on my deck where I set the layouts up.

Now, onto the layouts!

(studio calico may kit: granny's cupboard + studio calico nest stamp + maya road leaf stick pin)

This layout was inspired by this one by icenalys. I really, really loved the original and wanted something similar, but different at the same time. If that makes any sense at all.

(studio calico may kit: granny's cupboard + maya road pearl stick pin)

This layout was inspired by Susan Weinroth's "I Have Loved" layout in the Studio Calico May Gallery. I really loved the "quilted" bottom on her layout and set out to make something similar. I think it turned okay, except for the uneven paper cuts at some points. I'm okay with that, though. It makes it look homespun.
Journaling: We love Madi so much. We are so blessed to have her! 2010

(studio calico may kit: granny's cupboard + maya mist hydrangea blue + white puffy thickers)

This layout was inspired by one of April Foster's layouts in the Studio Calico May Gallery (it had no title). I achieved the misted circle by taking an old glue dots holder and using it as a mask.
Journaling: Technically, it's from N.J., but it's close enough. As you can see, I loved it so much. It was half-eaten before I remembered a pic.

(studio calico may kit: granny's cupboard + white sparkle thickers + dear lizzy crochet flowers + maya road leaf stick pin + martha stewart border punch)

I can't remember the name of that border punch. If you know, please let me know! Thanks!
Journaling: ___ & I on the metro. D.C. - 2010

Thanks for dropping by today! It makes me feel better when people stop by.

Have a wonderful Saturday! xoxo - Kasey

{my} currents.

Tina Aszmus had this fun "currents" survey up on her blog. I thought I'd try it out...

listening: B.o.B ft. Hayley Williams: airplanes
eating: watermelon & 3 musketeer mint and dark chocolate minis - LOVE these!
drinking: sprite & minute maid pink lemonade
wearing: a purple polo, but I'd love to stay in my jammies
feeling: overwhelmed and busy. tons to get done... it never ends!
weather: cloudy, but warm
wanting: some time to scrapbook and extra money to spend on scrap supplies
needing: new shorts. i have barely any!
thinking: about everything that needs to be done around the house.
enjoying: etsy, blogging, and studio calico
wondering: what's an easy way to make extra money to put towards scrapbooking stuff?

you're up next! give it a try.

Have a fab Wednesday! xoxo - Kasey

favorite etsy shops {a quick post}

Quick post for today. I didn't want the blog to become a lonely place, but I just don't have the motivation to upload pictures of completed layouts and edit them. Plus, I'm going to clean the closet in my scraproom to make room for scrapbooking stuff. That's my goal for the day.

I have been searching etsy today and I've come up with some favorite shops. They are listed below.

LuckyBluebirdArt
William Dohman
mintbuttercup
michelemaule
Nan Lawson
cutcopycreate
FeliceDesign

Those are just a few of my favorites that I have found today! Thanks so much for stopping by.

Have a lovely Tuesday! xoxo - Kasey

reflection & a walk {layouts}

Whew, I haven't been on in forever! I've been a bad blogger. hehe. Well, I'm back! Life's been a bit stressful lately... that's why I've been MIA. To do something therapeutic and relax myself, I've been scrapping! Below you will find two layouts using Partly Sunny: Studio Calico's June kit (which made its appearance a day early on my doorstep!).

So here we go...

This first one was all my own. Typically I use sketches or ideas (scraplifting, really), but I just took some matching papers and embellishments and went to town. I'm actually pretty proud of it myself!

This layout was not my own, though. I used a sketch by Julie Bonner. And the idea of outlining the clouds with pen came from Sasha Farina (love her work!).

I'm sorry for the quick post today! I have to get working on a soccer album that needs to be done by Saturday afternoon. I've been lazy and waited until the last minute. Procrastinating gets you nowhere... I'm learning that! lol.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek. Be back soon!
Happy Tuesday. xoxo - Kasey
