cloudy with a chance of layouts.

Well, it's not really cloudy out, but... I just needed a catchy title. I'm sure we've all been in that pickle, where we feel our titles are boring. hehe. Well, I have two pages to share today. Both of them are made with Studio Calico's July Kit: Continental. Take a peek below. :)

(Continental + turquoise mist + rasberry pink mist)

A page with some pictures of my brother and I while visiting my mom's friend. I scraplifted Sasha Farina's "Priceless" layout in the July Gallery. I had loved the misted background and wanted something similar! So happy with the way it turned out.

(Continental + Martha Stewart border punch)

My brother was just waking up on a snowy morning (I think it was snowy...), when I snapped the shot. It spiraled into the page, showcasing the picture. This is a scraplift of "Adoration" by princesscarriek21. I loved the simple design in the original & wanted a page like it.

Thanks so much for looking! I should be back tomorrow with another Continental page!

Have a lovely evening! xoxo - Kasey

on the road again.

Technically, it's not again, but... I needed a semi-snazzy title.

Here's the deal... I'm leaving to go visit my mom's friend. I'll be gone from today (July 7) to Sunday (July 11). I am really excited to be seeing her, but will miss so many things...

1. My puppy. I'm gonna miss her and her kisses. She's the sweetest!
2. My dad. He's staying home because of work...
3. My SC package. It's due to arrive tomorrow. I so wish I could be here, but I'm calling it my "return present". hehe.
4. My blog, the message boards, and the internet itself. Well, that's kind of self-explanatory... I practically live on the internet (which is kind of a bad thing...).

Anyways, I hope ya'll have a lovely rest of the week/weekend. I'll "see" you when I get back!

xoxo - Kasey

P.S. And if you're expecting any packages from... SC per se... I hope you enjoy them when they get there!

Happy July Fourth!

Just popping in to wish you all a very Happy July Fourth. My family is being lazy today and I don't think we will even have a real celebration! It's so sad. We may have a cook-out to celebrate. I'm going to try and push that. I feel like a total unpatriotic person if we don't do a single thing to celebrate the day.

I really want to thank all of the men, women, wives, husbands, moms, dads, siblings, aunts, uncles, grandmas, grandpas, cousins, friends, and everyone that is currently serving or has served in a war in some way. We are very blessed to have you all fight for our country. You protect us and give us our freedoms. You do so much for this country and for us. I am proud of you and your families for doing this. You mean so much to me and hold a special place in my heart, even though I have never met you.

Today I am remembering both of my grandfathers who fought in some of the wars in the past. Both of them have passed, but that doesn't mean they won't live on. I am celebrating my dad (he has not passed, thankfully), as well. He is retired from the Navy.

Who are you celebrating or remembering today?

I hope you all have a wonderful and blessed Fourth of July. Enjoy the day!

Hugs! xoxo - Kasey

eating: popcorn, Hamburgers, Carrots, Watermelon, Popsicles/water ice.
drinking: water, pink lemonade, iced tea.
wearing: tan shorts, yellow empire top, white sweater (okay... that was a "right now" current. hehe)
feeling: drowsy & hungry
weather: dark & chilly
wanting: to meet a nice guy. when did majority of them turn into "semi-jerks"? oi!
needing: something to comfort me & someone who does care if I talk about myself and my thoughts.
thinking: get away is less than a week away!
enjoying: listening to music; swooning over vintage clothes.
wondering: why does my hair always fight me?
loving: looking at wedding photography/showcasing sites.
wishing: i was more inspired this week.
needing: to continue work on my "box" project & continue my "Eight is Enough" challenge pages.

eight is enough {supplies}.

I have decided to step up and attempt the Eight is Enough challenge. I have not bought the eBook created by April Foster & Ella Publishing, but I plan to. I'm going to try and start some layouts before I do that, though. I don't want to wait until I do buy it.

I have pulled together my "kit" of eight items (seven for now). I have seven items and have a wild card item that I can choose later on when I know there is something I *need*. My "kit" consists of two sheets of patterned paper, two alphas, one label sticker sheet, Martha Stewart: Classic Butterfly Punch, Maya Road: Orange Mist. Below is a picture...

I hope to be off and running on this project very soon!

Have a lovely night! xoxo - Kasey

scrappy saturday.

I have to leave very soon for my church picnic, but I will leave you all with a layout! I created it today. I know, I know... you are probably thinking, "Why hasn't she been working on the "box"?". Well, these past two days, I just haven't been inspired to keep working on the box. That will change tomorrow, though. I am working on the box and I will try to finish it! If I don't get hot on it tomorrow... I'll never get hot on it! lol.

Here's the layout...

(Studio Calico June Kit: Partly Sunny + Orange Maya Mist + Cream Maya Mist + Studio Calico Cherry Stamp + Vanilla Cardstock [Best Occasions])

**Made using the Sketchy Thursdays: 6/3 sketch.

Journaling reads: Although one out of the three of us is much younger & rarely seen... we still have a connection.

I never do that much splattering or random stamping, but I really wanted to try something different from my "current". It was neat to just randomly splatter mist and all that and the end result is a page that I love!

Have a wonderful evening, everyone! xoxo - Kasey

friday craftiness {the good stuff}.

Hello all! Today I decided to take a one day break from my project. I wanted to just sit and create a page and then get started on the "box" (my nickname for the project) again tomorrow. So, that's what I did! After running around in the morning (dropping the dog off for a haircut & getting my own hair cut) I snapped some pictures, uploaded, printed, and scrapped! And then, of course, photographed and uploaded again. Below is my newest creation!

(Studio Calico June Kit: Partly Sunny + bits of SC May kit: Granny's Cupboard + Purple Cardstock [Best Occasions])

I used Big Huge Labs for the collage.

This layout is for Color Combos Galore current color palatte. I'm really getting into this whole stitching thing! I think I like it! :)

It was inspired by this layout by Leah.  I really loved everything about her layout. And even though mine doesn't look like hers, it inspired me to scrap.

It's about my little Yorkie's new haircut. Sorry I pixelated the photos, but she's embarrassed by the hair cut (didn't even want me to take pictures, no lie! She wouldn't look at the camera until I just moved around crazily and snapped them quick!). So, I decided it be best I pixelate them. ;) Even though she wouldn't know they're on here. lol. I don't even think it looks bad, but what are ya gonna do?

Thank you so much for coming!

I hope to be back tomorrow! My goal is to blog every day this week! hehe. That'll be a feat!

Have an amazing Friday! xoxo - Kasey

a little sneaky peeky.

I have a little sneak peek of a project I've been working on. This is just for my own uses, no Design Team work or anything like that. I'm not even on a design team! lol. So, anyways, I'm not going to reveal to you what it is, until I can show you the full thing. That will be when I finish the project!

So for now, I shall share a little tidbit...

(Using Studio Calico kits: Quilting Bee, Granny's Cupboard, and Partly Sunny + bits of my stash)

Well, there it is! I look forward to showing you the whole thing, but that could be a couple of days! I have a feeling this could take a little chunk of time to complete. But, then again, I only started on it last night!

Thank you for stopping by!

Have a terrific Thursday! Enjoy your day! xoxo - Kasey

scrapping on a wednesday.

This is going to be a quick post, and I'm sorry for that! Dinner is done and I just wanted to squeeze this in before sitting down. So, I have one new layout to share with you!

(Studio Calico June Kit: Partly Sunny + MS Butterfly Punch + Cream cardstock [Best Occasions])

This layout is for Studio Calico's Sunday Sketch 6/20 & Studio Calico's Favorite Challenge. The favorite on here is the picture. It is one of my favorite photos.

The clustering of butterflies was inspired by this layout by Elizabeth Kartchner. I wasn't originally going to do the butterflies since it wasn't on the sketch, but I just decided to add them after remembering that layout by Elizabeth.

This was also my first time sewing on a layout. I went around to my grandmother's house last night to borrow her sewing machine. She taught me how to sew and then lock the stitch (within in a short period of time... She absolutely rocks, might I add! lol). That was special. I wish I had brought my camera and gotten my brother to take pictures. Or took pictures myself.

The cardstock is creased because I rode my motor scooter to her house and had to balance on that while holding the cardstock in between my legs. Quite the sight! I almost got hit by a car on my way back! Hey, I didn't see him pulling out of the driveway until I was right in front of him! I'm kind of upset about that (the cardstock being creased. lol).

Well then, I best be sending you on your way! Thanks for stopping by today!

Have a wonderful Wednesday night! xoxo - Kasey
